Three things to know
- Use documents for the garage actually ordered.
- Foundations and levels must follow the particular design.
- Coordinate access and garage delivery with preparation.

Catalogue dimensions are not a foundation brief
Send the confirmed garage model and documents for the ordered variant. Distinguish an indicative manufacturer diagram from a foundation design for your site. An earthworks and construction quote should state whether it covers excavation alone, foundations too or further preparation. Garage installation and its interfaces need a clearly identified supplier.
Separate garage dimensions from foundation requirements
Pricing excavation requires positions, dimensions and levels from the relevant design. State whether preparation is for a slab, strips, pads or another designed solution. This choice should not be made solely on what is quickest to dig.
If foundation conditions are not yet established, identify the missing design in the enquiry. The machine operator should not replace a designer. A universal depth, width or concrete thickness would ignore differing structures and site conditions.
Coordinate levels with doors, driveway and surroundings
Attach a plan clearly showing garage position and the area in front of the doors. Give the future floor level and available surrounding-area documents. Today's garden level alone may not be a usable reference.
If the driveway is still being built, pass its requirements to that contractor together with garage documents. Clarify any preparation for services too. Water management and installations must follow the design; drawing an outline does not resolve them.
Agree where each contractor's work ends
Distinguish excavation, soil removal, foundations, any base layers and garage installation. Name the person responsible for each part. If you need only earthworks, identify who accepts the prepared area and who follows.
We provide excavation and foundation slab construction to a design. That does not automatically include supply of a prefabricated garage or its equipment. Confirm the actual ordered scope against documents, rather than relying on 'turnkey preparation'.

| Preparation item | What to provide |
|---|---|
| Garage | The confirmed model and current supplier requirements |
| Foundations | The particular structural design and levels |
| Excavation | Position, dimensions and soil arrangements |
| Interfaces | Driveway, services and other contractors |
| Acceptance | The person and requirements for the next stage |
Plan soil and access before the installation date
Photograph the whole route and loading area. Distinguish access for the excavator, truck and garage supplier's equipment. One stage's access requirements do not confirm access for the others. Identify known restrictions and space that must remain clear.
For soil, state what leaves and what may stay for an agreed use. Give the installation date at the first discussion. Necessary intermediate periods and acceptance conditions are confirmed with the responsible contractors; the programme involves more than digging hours.
Distinguish completed earthworks from readiness for garage installation
If ordering excavation only, completion does not mean garage installation can start. Another ordered stage may sit between them according to the actual design. In the shared overview, identify who accepts earthworks and who later confirms conditions for structural delivery and installation. Required checks and dates follow the relevant contractors' documents.
Before booking a specific installation day, check preparation status with them, not merely that the excavator has left. This guide specifies neither technical waiting periods nor a foundation acceptance method. It provides an overview of contacts and information so two contractors do not expect work the client has not ordered from either.

| Handover | What the next party needs to know | Who confirms the required information |
|---|---|---|
| Excavation to the next stage | Scope against the brief and outstanding items. | The person accepting earthworks. |
| Foundations to installation | The particular garage's requirements and verification status. | The responsible foundation and installation contractors. |
| Delivery access | Space for the actual vehicle and handling. | The delivery and installation supplier. |
| Driveway and surroundings after building | Which areas still need finishing. | The contractor for that subsequent work. |
What to send in your initial enquiry
'I am preparing a prefabricated garage in [municipality], model [variant]. Current manufacturer documents and [foundation design status] are attached. I need [excavation / removal / foundations to design]. Installation is by [supplier], with a planned date of [date]. Photographs show access and loading space.'
See the garage foundation excavation in Unhošť as an example of actual earthworks. However, the available records do not establish a prefabricated garage by a particular manufacturer. The reference documents the stated excavation, not a supplier partnership or the parameters of your solution.
Frequently asked questions
Is the catalogue garage size enough?
Executing excavation requires the particular foundation brief, position and levels. Catalogue dimensions do not automatically establish them.
Is a manufacturer's indicative diagram a foundation design?
Not automatically. Clarify which documents apply to the ordered variant and who provides the design for your property.
Does SORTI also supply the prefabricated garage?
This guide describes earthworks preparation and, if ordered, foundations to a design. Garage supply should not be inferred from this offer.
Can I tie a fixed installation date to excavation day?
Provide the date in advance, but the relevant contractors must confirm the whole sequence against actual scope and conditions.
Send the garage variant and handover plan
Attach current documents, foundation design status and next-stage contacts. Define which earthworks or construction tasks you need arranged.
