Three things to know
- Material and packaging are two separate details.
- Provide the handover position and load information.
- Order delivery and specific-point placement separately.
Contents of this guide
Assess material and packaging separately
Separate the material specification from its handover format. For loose loads, address the unloading area; for packaged loads, provide unit counts, dimensions and weights. Not every option is available for every journey. Confirm the particular supply and placement before ordering.
Clarify the unloading point for loose material
Describe the handover area and complete access route. Identify other nearby materials and what must remain intact. The haulier confirms unloading method and site suitability for the actual vehicle; available empty space alone is not enough.
If material must continue behind the house or elsewhere, specify that transfer. Delivery to the gate does not automatically include spreading across the whole area. Distinguish delivery handover, on-site movement and processing in the quote.
For packaged loads, provide complete load information
Give package counts and individual unit dimensions and weights from available documents. Photographs of packaging and labels help identify the load. Report the actual condition of older or opened packages.
Loading, unloading and any lifting arrangement must suit the load and required documents. Do not assume every bag or pallet can be lifted in the same way. This guide gives no slinging or handling instructions.
Distinguish delivery from placement at a specific point
If packaged material must go to a particular position, provide the distance from possible vehicle standing space and an overall view. Identify obstacles, surface condition and known nearby structures. Confirm feasibility before ordering.
SORTI offers material transport and loader crane handling within a specifically agreed scope. This guide does not promise universal unloading over fences, onto roofs or at any distance. Packaging and equipment capabilities are assessed together.
Compare the whole delivery chain
Alongside material price, include packaging, loading, transport, unloading and further movement. Add packaging acceptance or return conditions if applicable. Confirm what the actual seller's offer includes.
Do not choose solely by packaging appearance or unit price. Quantity, space and coordination with use matter too. Neither loose nor packaged material is automatically cheaper or more suitable for every site.

| Load format | Additional transport information |
|---|---|
| Loose | Type, quantity and agreed unloading point |
| Bags | Count, package details and handover method |
| Pallets | Dimensions, weight, condition and available loading |
| Bulk bags | Manufacturer's information, packaging condition and handling requirements |
| Every option | Access, further transfer and recipient's contact |
How to send a clear enquiry
'I need [material] transported from [loading point] to [unloading municipality]. It is prepared as [packaging]; counts and documented details are [inventory]. Loading is [arrangements]. I need handover at [position and further movement]. Photographs of the load, access and area are attached.'
If still choosing packaging, send both options' conditions. Confirm transport and handling availability for the actual load before a binding material order. Agreeing who accepts delivery and what follows unloading is equally important.
Frequently asked questions
Are bags, pallets and bulk bags the same brief?
No. They require different load information and confirmation of suitable handling.
Does packaging automatically mean loader crane unloading?
No. Handling suitability depends on the actual load, manufacturer's documents and location.
Can the same material be sold in different formats?
Yes, some products have several supply options. Confirm availability with the actual seller.
What if I do not know which format to order?
Send the exact alternatives and place of use. Have transport and handling confirmed before purchase.
Send the actual supply options
Add units, package counts and load documents. Use the same required handover point for a fair comparison of transport options.
