Three things to know
- Specify the product before choosing a supplier.
- Document owned stock with an actual inventory.
- Compare purchase together with transport, handling and missing items.

Specify first, purchase second
First confirm the product and quantity required by the actual solution. Then compare your own purchase with contractor supply against the same list. If you already own materials, send product references, quantities and stock condition. Agree who delivers, accepts and resolves missing or unsuitable items.
Calculate quantities for the entire agreed scope
Wall length or terrace area alone does not determine every order item. The actual design may require related components. Have the inventory confirmed and clarify which details it includes. Buying another variant during work may not be a straightforward substitution.
Distinguish design quantities, on-site stock and a confirmed order. If dimensions change, update the list too. Do not apply one contingency percentage to every product; have the responsible contractor confirm what is needed.
Delivery does not automatically reach the place of use
State where material comes from and where it will be unloaded. For your own purchases, provide available package dimensions and weights from the documents. Further handling depends on whether a truck reaches the construction area or only the gate.
SORTI offers material transport and handling within an agreed scope. Loader crane or other equipment use is confirmed for the load and location; it is not an automatic promise for every product. Transfer, distribution and construction are separate quote items.
Identify who accepts delivery beforehand
Agree a contact, unloading location and procedure if the delivery differs from the list or is visibly damaged. Give delivery documents to the recipient. Allocate responsibility for particular checks and subsequent communication explicitly.
If you source materials and another firm carries out the work, coordinate dates and actual delivered quantities. Late or incomplete supply may require revised arrangements. Discuss any consequences and next steps rather than relying on unspoken expectations.
Compare offers against the same inventory
A 'labour only' option may include different transport and handling from a material-inclusive offer. List identical steps for both. The final total should reflect the actual brief, not two differently named packages.
There is no rule that your own materials are always cheaper or contractor supply always includes everything. Send the list and confirm prices for individual parts and what you still arrange. This guide determines no contractual warranties and does not replace the actual agreement.

What to write if you already have materials
'I am planning [construction] in [municipality]. I own [exact product, variant, quantity], stored at [location]. Documents and photographs are attached. I need its use confirmed and a quote for [work, missing items, transport, handling]. The design is [document status].'
If you have not purchased yet, send the project and available design first. Clarifying scope before ordering distinguishes confirmed items from open questions. SORTI confirms actual material supply and execution against the real brief.
Frequently asked questions
Can I supply my own materials?
Give the actual product, quantity and condition. Their use and remaining work scope must be confirmed beforehand for the job.
Can labour-only and material-inclusive prices be compared?
Only after dividing them into the same items. Add transport, handling and anything one offer omits.
Does delivery also move materials behind the house?
Only if agreed. The unloading point and actual place of use may differ.
Who resolves an incomplete or incorrect delivery?
Agree responsibility and the procedure between purchaser, material supplier and contractor in advance.
Send an inventory showing each item's status
Identify what is on site, ordered or missing. Submit proposed substitutes with documents for confirmation before work begins.
